Privacy Policy for mvsConnect
MV Solutions ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mvsConnect mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
The mvsConnect app does not require user registration, login, or account creation. However, certain optional features may collect information you voluntarily provide.
1.2 Data Processed Locally on Your Device
The following data is processed and stored locally on your device only:
- WiFi Network Credentials: WiFi network names (SSIDs) and passwords you enter to configure your IoT devices. This data is encrypted and stored locally on your device by the Android operating system.
- Device Connection History: Names and connection details of MVS IoT devices you connect to (for the reconnect feature). This data remains on your device only.
- Downloaded Files: Files you download from your own IoT devices are stored in your device's download folder.
Important: All locally stored data stays on YOUR device. We do not have access to it, and it is never transmitted to our servers.
1.3 Contact Support Feature (Optional)
When you voluntarily use the "Contact Support" feature to report an issue, you may choose to provide:
- Your Name: To help us identify and respond to your support request
- Phone Number: To contact you regarding your support issue
- Location: Approximate GPS coordinates (only when you tap "Get Location") to help diagnose location-specific issues
- Device Logs: Technical information from your connected IoT device to help troubleshoot problems
- Issue Description: Details about the problem you're experiencing
How Contact Support Data is Handled:
- This information is ONLY collected when you actively submit a support request
- Data is sent directly to our support email via your device's email app or WhatsApp - we do not store this on any servers
- You have full control - the data is only sent when you tap "Send via Email" or "Send via WhatsApp"
- Location is entirely optional - you can skip this step
- This feature is entirely optional - you don't need to use it to use the app

2. Permissions We Request
The App requests the following Android permissions to function properly:
2.1 WiFi State and Change WiFi State
- Purpose: To scan for and connect to your MVS IoT devices via WiFi
- Data Use: Local WiFi network scanning and connection management
- No Data Sharing: WiFi information is not transmitted to us or third parties
2.2 Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
- Purpose: Required by Android OS for WiFi scanning on Android 6 and above
- Secondary Purpose: Optionally used in Contact Support to include your location in support requests
- Data Use: WiFi scanning is automatic; location in Contact Support is only accessed when you tap "Get Location"
- User Control: Location for support is entirely optional - you can skip this step
2.3 Camera
- Purpose: To scan QR codes for quick device connection
- Data Use: QR code processing happens locally on your device only
- No Data Sharing: Camera images are not stored, transmitted, or shared
2.4 Internet
- Purpose: To communicate with your own MVS IoT devices on your local network, and to check for firmware updates
- Data Use: Device communication and firmware version checking
- No Personal Data Sharing: No personal data is sent to external servers
2.5 Network State
- Purpose: To check WiFi connectivity status
- Data Use: Local network status checking only
- No Data Sharing: No network information is shared externally
3. Third-Party Services and SDKs
3.1 Libraries Used
The App uses the following third-party libraries:
- AndroidX Libraries (Google): Official Android support libraries
- Material Design (Google): UI components
- ZXing: Open-source QR code scanning library
3.2 Data Collection by Third Parties
We do NOT use:
- Analytics services (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.)
- Advertising networks
- User tracking or behavior monitoring tools
- Cloud storage or backend servers for user data
4. How We Use Information
Data processing happens for the following purposes:
- Connecting to your MVS IoT devices
- Managing WiFi credentials for device setup
- Storing connection history for quick reconnection
- Downloading files from your devices to your device storage
- Checking for firmware updates
- Contact Support only: Responding to your support requests using the information you voluntarily provide
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT share, sell, rent, or disclose any user data to third parties except:
- Contact Support: When you use the Contact Support feature, the information you provide is sent directly to our support email (solutionsmv11@gmail.com) via your device's email app or WhatsApp. This is initiated by you and you can review all data before sending.
We do NOT have backend servers that store your personal information.
6. Data Security
6.1 Local Data Protection
- WiFi credentials are encrypted by the Android operating system
- All data remains on your device under your control
- No cloud synchronization or remote storage of personal data
6.2 Network Communication
- Communication with your IoT devices happens on your local WiFi network
- Firmware update checks use secure HTTPS connections
- Contact Support data is transmitted via your device's secure email/WhatsApp clients
7. Children's Privacy
Our App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. The Contact Support feature is optional and intended for adults who manage IoT devices. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal information through Contact Support, please contact us and we will delete such information.
8. Your Data Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can access all locally stored data through Android's system settings and file manager
- Deletion of Local Data: You can delete all app data by:
- Going to Android Settings > Apps > mvsConnect > Storage > Clear Data
- Uninstalling the app (removes all local data)
- Deletion of Support Data: If you have submitted a support request and want the information deleted, contact us at solutionsmv11@gmail.com
- Control: You have full control over all data at all times. Contact Support data is only sent when you explicitly tap the send button.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Including a notice in the app (for significant changes)
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
10. Data Retention
- Local Data: Stored on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app
- Support Request Data: Retained in our email inbox only as long as needed to resolve your issue, then deleted. Typically within 90 days of issue resolution.
11. International Data Transfers
We do not transfer any data internationally. All local data stays on your device. Contact Support data is sent directly from your device to our email inbox.
